Letter from the Chair
Florida After Nearly 3 Decades of One-Party Rule: It Is Time for a Change!
Growth alone, nor a booming stock market, is not prosperity. It’s a teacher who can afford a home near their school. It’s a young couple who can rent or now buy their first home. It’s retirees who can readily pay for both health insurance and medicine and not sacrifice their groceries. It’s every child in a strong public school with good access to a doctor under their family’s healthcare plan.
What Are You Doing to Change Florida?
Election Day is November 3, and the time between now and then matters.
So I’m asking every Collier County Democrat to consider a few questions:
Are you making phone calls on behalf of our candidates?
Are you knocking on doors and talking with your neighbors and friends about the issues that matter to our community?
Are you contributing to the Collier County Democratic Party to support our work during this election?
Have you made your plan to vote—and encouraged your family and friends to make theirs?
There are many ways to participate. You can volunteer, help protect the vote, attend a candidate event, contribute to our local party, or simply make sure the people in your life know when, where, and how to vote.
Now is the time to turn intention into action. Choose something you can do—and do it. Make the call. Knock on the door. Have the conversation. Volunteer your time. Make a contribution. And most importantly, make your plan to vote.
We have just a few weeks left. Make them count.
Read on for important voting information, upcoming events, and more ways to get involved.
This November 3, vote for Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. Let’s build a Florida where ordinary people have ample opportunities and can confidently build a secure, healthy and prosperous life for themselves, their families and their communities.
In solidarity,
Jane Schlechtweg

Saturday, October 17, 10:00 am – 12:30 pm Collier County Courthouse 3315 Tamiami Trl E, Naples, FL 34112 We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next. For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law. Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing our community together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard. Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. There will be a food drive as well. *No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters. A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. |
