Letter from the Chair
November Starts Now
The Florida Primary sent us a message we cannot ignore: only 22% of eligible voters cast a ballot.
We must do better in November.
Every election is decided by people who show up—and one of the most powerful ways to help ensure that happens is Vote by Mail. In Collier County’s 2026 Primary Election, only 26.4% of eligible voters cast a ballot—but nearly 44% of those who voted did so by mail. Requesting a Vote-by-Mail ballot gives you the convenience of voting from home and helps make sure your voice is heard. That is why getting more Democrats signed up for VBM is one of the most important things we can do right now.
So, sign up for Vote by Mail today—and then help someone else sign up. A friend. A neighbor. A family member. Every ballot requested is another voter we are helping stay engaged and ready for November.
But winning will take more than ballots. It will take all of us.
Make calls. Knock on doors. Talk to your neighbors. Volunteer for our candidates. Give a few hours when you can. And if you are able, donate to the CollierDems so we have the resources to reach more voters throughout Collier County.
November 3 may feel weeks away, but the work that determines what happens in November is happening right now.
We have candidates who are willing to step forward and fight for our community. Now it is our turn to stand behind them.
Sign up for Vote by Mail. Volunteer. Donate. Show up.
Because when we work together, we can turn 22% participation into the turnout we need to elect Democrats in November.
Every call matters. Every door matters. Every dollar matters. Every vote matters.
Let’s get to work.
In solidarity,
Jane Schlechtweg
The Collier County Democratic Executive Committee Meeting
Wednesday, September 2
5:30 - 9:00 pm
5010 9th Street North
Naples, FL 34103
(in the Heritage Court Plaza)
Join us for our September 2 DEC meeting featuring Jackson Peel from Save Our Services.
Jackson will explain why Amendment 3 deserves a NO vote and what the passage could mean for our county. If approved, Amendment 3 would shift important decisions about local services away from our county and give Tallahassee greater control over what services are available--or whether some services are provided at all.
This is an important issue that could directly affect Collier County and communities across Florida. Come learn what is at stake, get your questions answered, and find out why voting NO on Amendment 3 matters.
