July 2024
Letter from the Chair
The August primary is 50 days away and it will be the most consequential election for our public-school children. School board candidates, Pam Cunningham and Tom Henning, have openly expressed intentions to replace existing progressive values with their Christian ideologies and advocate for policies that marginalize children based on their identities and deny their existence. While making sure that our childrens’ lives are protected, there are better ways to secure their safety than to put more guns into our schools. We want our children to have an honest education, not one based only on the teachings of one religion.
For the sake of our children, we must reelect incumbents Stephanie Lucarelli and Erick Carter. They are our best hope for maintaining a school system free from religious indoctrination and censorship. Stephanie Lucarelli and Erick Carter will ensure that every child can be themselves in a safe, secure environment and that every parent can raise their child according to their own values. They will also ensure that our tax dollars are used to provide an honest and comprehensive education.
Ensure you are eligible to vote in the August 20th primary.
The last day to register to vote is July 22.
August 8 is the final day to request a Vote-By-Mail ballot.
Early voting begins on August 10th through the 17th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
If you will be out-of-town in August, provide that address when you request your Vote-By-Mail ballot as the post office cannot forward ballots. Go to www.CollierVotes.gov to register to vote or to request a Vote-By-Mail ballot.
In the meantime, donate to the Stephanie Lucarelli and Erick Carter campaigns, make phone calls on their behalf, and plant a yard sign or two showing your support for the candidates that will protect our school system from Christian indoctrination.

ONGOING MEETINGS – Make your voice heard in local government!

The Collier County arm of the Florida Democratic Party is supported entirely by volunteers and donations from voters like you!
We’re at a critical juncture, and your support has never been more vital. By donating today, your contribution will go twice as far, thanks to our generous donors who have pledged to match every dollar. This means your $100 donation becomes $200, directly impacting our efforts to uphold Democratic values and fight for the causes we believe in.
Additionally, we invite you to join this inspiring group of matching donors. Your commitment to match donations not only amplifies our collective impact but also motivates others to contribute, knowing their support will be doubled. Together, we can ensure our message resonates louder and reaches further. Your donation today can make all the difference in our shared fight for progress and justice. For information about becoming a matching donor, please email info@CollierDems.org.
HOW ARE YOUR DONATIONS SPENT? Your donations allow us to support Democratic candidates, prepare election materials for distribution to voters, help fund our vote-by-mail and voter registration efforts, and allow us to maintain a local party headquarters for the use of volunteers and candidates. Your donations also fund our many voter outreach activities, including:
- CCDEC participation in local events and parades, promoting our party and encouraging voter registration
- Supporting our neighborhood-by-neighborhood outreach, such as our “Party with the Party” events
- this “Democratic Dispatch” monthly newsletter
- Legislative Action Alerts
- press releases, letters to editors, and editorial articles sent to public news media, supporting Democratic views
- Mass email, text, and phone banking campaigns in support of our Democratic campaign and candidates
- Social media outreach and advertising
- Print, radio, and TV interviews and advertising
- and a whole lot more!
Please consider a one-time or monthly donation, or increasing your current monthly donation in the run-up to November. Only with your help can we maximize the impact we can make on this most crucial election year!
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to every single one of our incredible donors! Our local party wouldn’t exist without you!
