Let’s show them what democracy looks like! Join Collier County Democrat Party at the City of Naples 4th of July Parade.

Our theme will highlight the US Constitution & the importance of voting. Dress up in your best patriotic (red, white & blue) & democratic gear & show your patriotic spirit! If you have a Statue of Liberty Costume or Flag outfit, please wear them.  I will have some flag capes.

Decorating begins at 7:00 am at the staging area along 3rd Street South, from 6th Avenue South heading towards Broad Ave S. All walkers & participants must line up by 8:30 AM.  Our exact staging location within the lineup may not be known until we arrive.

Enter the staging area (3rd Street South) from Broad Avenue South. It is highly encouraged that the entire group arrive together. If a participant needs to be dropped off, it is recommended that drivers use Rodger’s Park at the corner of 3rd Street South and Broad Avenue South. The parking lot there will allow for an easier turn around. Once the participant has been dropped off, they can walk down the street to meet us.

Checklist of items you may want to bring to the parade:

  • Bring Water / water bottles
  • Wear Collier County Democrat, Dem Gear &/or flag outfits. If you have a Statue of Liberty costume, please bring it.  I will have about 12 American flag capes you can wear.
    1. Decorators arrive by 7:00 AM. Walkers need to arrive by 8:30 AM. Link: https://forms.gle/ybM9SEgFkQDTCH9A6
  • If you need a ride, send me a text or call me at 239-249-2285. (We are not allowed to stop to let people into the cars during the parade.  The route is 3 miles in the heat. Riding on a float or in a car is just as nice)
  • If you have nicely printed posters, flags or banners with the following themes, please bring them with you: Protection of Voting Rights, Vote for Dems, Constitution Preamble, Important Constitutional Amendments (this is not a rally, and need the signage to be appropriate for a parade)
  • Bring candy to hand to the crowd (candy cannot be thrown into the crowd)
  1. Parade Route will begin at 3rd Street South and 5th Avenue South, head east on 5th Avenue South and turn on to 8th Street South. Your participation in the parade will end once you have reached 8th Street South and 8th Avenue South. (map to follow)

I look forward to seeing you there!

Cynthia
