Join the Democrat Party at the City of Naples 4th of July Parade. \nOur theme will be the American Flag\, highlights of the US Constitution & the importance of Voting. Dress up in your best patriotic (red\, white & blue) & democratic gear & show your patriotic spirit! If you have a Statue of Liberty Costume or Flag outfit\, please wear them. I will have some flag capes. \nStaging begins at 7:00 am at 3rd St. South & 9th Ave South. The parade will begin promptly at 9 AM \nOur exact staging location within the lineup may not be known until before the event & will be communicated out as soon as we have it.

DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin the National John Lewis Day of Action – “Good Trouble Lives On” \n On Thursday\, July 17\, Naples will join communities across the country for “Good Trouble Lives On”—a national day of action to honor the legacy of Congressman John Lewis and push back against growing attacks on our democracy and our civil rights. \nHere in Naples\, Florida\, we’ll gather at the Collier County Courthouse for a rally and short march to the streets. The event will feature local speakers\, voter registration\, volunteer sign-ups\, and a food drive supporting our local food bank (food donations can be dropped off starting at 6:00 PM). \nThis event is hosted by 50501 Collier County and co-hosted by F.R.E.E. Indivisible SWFL. \nTogether\, we’ll raise our voices to demand a democracy where everyone—Black\, Brown\, white\, immigrant\, Indigenous\, LGBTQ+\, and working people—can be heard and live with dignity. \nWhy Now? \nTwelve years after the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act in Shelby County v. Holder\, we are witnessing one of the most aggressive rollbacks of civil rights in decades. Laws are being passed that restrict voting\, criminalize protest\, slash healthcare\, and target Black\, Brown\, immigrant\, and LGBTQ+ communities. \nCongressman John Lewis reminded us that we don’t wait for permission to fight injustice.
