As an undergraduate she worked for an immigration law office and after being admitted to the Florida Bar she worked for Legal Aid Service of Collier County in Immigration. Now Ms. Ayala is in private practice specializing in removal proceedings\, including people detained by ICE\, asylum\, and humanitarian processes such as the U visa\, VAWA\, and much more.

DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin the National John Lewis Day of Action – “Good Trouble Lives On” \n On Thursday\, July 17\, Naples will join communities across the country for “Good Trouble Lives On”—a national day of action to honor the legacy of Congressman John Lewis and push back against growing attacks on our democracy and our civil rights. \nHere in Naples\, Florida\, we’ll gather at the Collier County Courthouse for a rally and short march to the streets. The event will feature local speakers\, voter registration\, volunteer sign-ups\, and a food drive supporting our local food bank (food donations can be dropped off starting at 6:00 PM). \nThis event is hosted by 50501 Collier County and co-hosted by F.R.E.E. Indivisible SWFL. \nTogether\, we’ll raise our voices to demand a democracy where everyone—Black\, Brown\, white\, immigrant\, Indigenous\, LGBTQ+\, and working people—can be heard and live with dignity. \nWhy Now? \nTwelve years after the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act in Shelby County v. Holder\, we are witnessing one of the most aggressive rollbacks of civil rights in decades. Laws are being passed that restrict voting\, criminalize protest\, slash healthcare\, and target Black\, Brown\, immigrant\, and LGBTQ+ communities. \nCongressman John Lewis reminded us that we don’t wait for permission to fight injustice. Kelley is the Chair of the Miami-Dade County Democratic Executive Committee and a passionate advocate for democracy\, justice\, and immigrant rights. She is the founder of LFK Immigration PA\, a comprehensive boutique immigration law firm based in Doral\, Florida\, and has more than a decade of experience practicing immigration law. Laura previously served as Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) South Florida Chapter and as Vice-Chair of AILA National’s Wellness Committee. In 2024\, Laura ran for the Florida State House of Representatives in District 111\, championing policies focused on expanding opportunity and protecting fundamental rights.
