The second annual Naples Pride celebration on June 2, 2018 drew thousands of participants, a record number of vendors, and plenty of Democratic candidates for public office.
With a Democrat vying for every major federal and state post up for election in November, the candidates were visible throughout Cambier Park, mingling with event-goers, passing out literature, and distributing buttons and bumper stickers.
Event organizers estimated that more than 5,000 people turned out for this year’s edition of Naples Pride. There were 70 booths and 14 sponsors raising more than $22,000. Funds raised at the event, started last year in partnership with Naples Freedom, go to the Naples Pride LGBTQ Task Force Emergency Fund, which helps people in need of housing, clothing, food and health care.
