OPPOSE SB 300:  The 6 Week Abortion Ban up for a Full Senate Vote Thurs 3/30 at 1:30pm

SB 300 – Pregnancy and Parenting Support is a near-total abortion ban that would deny even more Floridians the ability to control their own bodies, lives and futures.  Please voice your opposition to the 6 Week Abortion Ban bill!

Your letter will go to all members of the Florida Senate, including our Collier County Senator.

Letter to Legislators:

Dear Honorable Members of the Florida Senate,

 I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed SB 300 legislation.  Medical autonomy is a fundamental human right, and unfettered access to medically sanctioned procedures, including abortion, should be universally respected and accepted by all, including Florida’s legislators and the governor. Reproductive healthcare decisions based on particular personal and religious doctrine should not be the purview of government in a free America.

75% of Floridians oppose an extreme six-week abortion ban.  Abortion bans harm women and their families. People forced to complete a pregnancy are 14 times more likely to die than those who access abortion, and black women are two to six times more likely to die during pregnancy than any other demographic.  Abortion bans disproportionately impact impoverished families living in rural areas with limited access to medical care.  Forced pregnancy is barbaric.  It adversely impacts socioeconomic status, education level, and work opportunities.

I am asking all of you in the Florida Senate, including my own Collier County Senator, President Passidomo, to vote NO on SB 300.
