Candidates from around Southwest Florida will be attending a special forum dedicated to gun violence.
The forum is sponsored by the IGNITE youth group of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers and is entitled Gun Violence and Youth Participation in Government.
The forum is scheduled for Sunday, July 29 at 1 p.m. at 13411 Shire Lane, Fort Myers, FL 33912.
Candidates for state and federal offices will be attending this moderated panel discussion. The youth group has asked that all questions be in writing and be limited to gun violence and youth participation in government. Among the candidates from Collier County who will be attending are Annisa Karim who is running for State Senate in District 28, which includes all of Collier and Hendry counties and part of Lee County.
All panelists will be given equal time to speak on directed questions and any follow up.
The IGNITE youth group has taken on these topics for study with the support of the 250 member congregation.
This is clearly an important issue for all Floridians and is a priority going into the 2018 elections. We hope you will join us for this program.
