When Democrats go to the polls for the primary election on August 28 they will find more than Democrats on the ballot.
While it is true that Democrats will have to decide among several candidates for the party’s nomination in, for instance, Congressional District 19 where David Holden and Todd Truax are facing off, the primary is the FINAL election in some non-partisan races and in races where no Democrats are running.
In the non-partisan races:
School Board President Roy M. Terry faces two challengers, Mary Ellen Cash and Darlene Alvarez. The Collier County Democratic Executive Committee recommends Terry for District 5.
In District 3, Dr. Kathy Ryan faces Jen Mitchell. The CCDEC recommends Ryan.
In other races:
James Wesley Chandler is recommend for Circuit Court Judge over his opponent John Owen McGowan. And Blake Adams is recommended for County Judge, Group 2 over his opponents Sal Bazaz, Jim Moon, Michael D, Nieman, and Dominick Russo.
And for the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the CCDEC recommends Crystal K. Kinzel over Donald L. Berry.
