Come meet the new chair of the Collier County Democratic Party, Annisa Karim, at the next meeting of the Collier County Democratic Club on January 21.
Also speaking will be Greg Gargan, CCDC president, who will be sharing a detailed analysis of the recent election results. He’ll also discuss how the Democratic Party is organized in Collier County.
Annisa was recently elected party chair by unanimous vote of the county’s Democratic Executive Committee. This will be her second time chairing the party here. A resident of Golden Gate, Annisa is a wildlife ecologist who works for the Lee County Parks and Recreation Department. She garnered nearly 73,000 votes in her run for Florida Senate during the midterm election last year.
It’s also that time of year when CCDC membership dues are due. Belonging to the Collier County Democratic Club is an easy and inexpensive way to get to know your fellow Democrats and to stay up to date on political developments through the club’s monthly meetings and guest speakers. Dues are only $35 for individuals and $65 for families. If you join by Feb. 1 you will be eligible to vote in the club’s annual election of officers during the March meeting.
This should be a highly informative meeting as we begin gearing up for 2020. Don’t miss it!
